Why The Need

GETTING INVOLVED

Most formerly incarcerated individual leave prison only to face the same circumstances that led to their incarceration. Within 3 years of release, 67% of inmates are incarcerated again; 20% of re-arrests occur within the first six months.

Pathway to Dignity is a non-profit program that prepares participants to re-enter society by providing the support necessary to succeed in all phases of their lives. By offering ex-offenders a chance to acquire the motivation and skills they need to become wholesome in the community and workplace, we put them on the path to finding meaningful jobs at a livable wage. At the same time, an integral part of the program is supporting the employers who hire them.

Testimonal

I got this job doing what I want to do in part because of Mrs. Clayborne's program Pathways To Dignity. Having completed this program the job that I applied for, wanted to know EVERYTHING I had been doing since my release. I believe that the program was one of the major things I had accomplished since I got out of prison, and I mentioned it. I also reflected on the curriculum and the "Do’s and Don't ”from the books that were given to me by Mrs. Clayborne.

I'm glad I participated in the program, it added knowledge to me in a way that I can't repay. Everyday I use the motto she laid out to us at every session, "I'm being my next best self" PS I work 12 to 14hrs, 6 days a week. Anything after 40hrs is overtime. And while I'm employed with this company I'm studying for my CDL that they'll pay for when I'm ready to take my test. I heard alot of NOs but it only takes 1 yes
